A half wave dipole of length 50 m radiates at 3 MHz. dA is positioned to estimate the maximum directivity, found to be 1.64 in the limit dA small. The current along the dipole is animated as point radiators. The continuous distribution of current, Imax = 1 A, is charted. The operating frequency is doubled to 6 MHz to establish a new current distribution of current along the dipole, and a narrowed Poynting vector field.
